Founded in Berlin in 2003, Kordes and Kordes has produced shorts, documentaries, feature and television films. Sisters Meike and Alexandra Kordes, winners of the VGF Bavarian Film Award’s young producers award for 2007, are the executive officers.
This young company has already made a name for itself far beyond Germany in the art house world. Sold in over 40 territories worldwide, FOUR MINUTES, a German festival hit showered with awards and accolades, has reached over half a million viewers.
In addition, the production company has made successful, high quality TV films including DO YOU SEE ME? directed by Katinka Feistl, which was nominated for the First Steps Award 2005 in the category "Best Fiction Film", among other nominations. Kerstin Ahlrichs’ feature film CROSSING THE FIELDS was broadcast as part of the ZDF "Real Feeling" series in 2007.
THE SEARCH FOR WEIGHTLESSNESS, a portrait of ballet dancer Vladimir Malakov (D: Carsten Fiebeler, 2005), and JEWISH BALLROOM, about the Berlin Jewish community (D: Arielle Artsztein, Esther Slevogt 2005), are two of the many exciting documentaries produced by Kordes and Kordes.
Chris Kraus' next motion picture POLL is currently in postproduction. Furthermore, the filming of the short film, THE CHINESE CAT by the screenwriter and director Petra Lüschow is completed.
Since 2005 Kordes & Kordes Film has offices in North Westfalia, Bavaria and Baden-Württemburg.
