The Company

Kordes & Kordes Film was founded in Berlin in 2003 and is headed by sisters Meike and Alexandra Kordes. Within a short period of time, the two producers established Kordes & Kordes Film as a production company of exceptional shorts, documentaries, feature and television films, and in January 2006, they were honoured with the VGF Young Producers’ Prize at the Bavarian Film Awards.

Kordes & Kordes has also made a name for itself in the arthouse world far beyond Germany. Chris Kraus's FOUR MINUTES, winner of the German Film Award 2007, was sold in over 40 territories worldwide and, winning a total of 61 awards, remains one of the most successful German films to screen in the international film festival circuit in recent years. FOUR MINUTES has reached over half a million viewers in Germany.

The company teamed up again with Chris Kraus for 2010's THE POLL DIARIES, a historical drama that proved equally successful. Winner of three Bavarian Film Awards and four German Film Awards, THE POLL DIARIES has since its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival 2010 garnered multiple awards for its main cast as well as every single technical department.

Currently in post-production is the television film I DON’T LIKE MONDAYS (WT) by writer and director Aelrun Goette. In development are a number of feature films for theatrical and TV release.

Since 2005, Kordes & Kordes Film has further offices in North Westfalia, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
